GOTLAND

Description - Based upon the European Oak Spades grade which offers some knotting and colour variation but without being overtly rustic, the Gotland has been through a process of brushing, smoking and oiling. The brushing process removes the softer wood within the surface grain to leave a texture on the surfcae, a process that happens naturally as wood is worn over time. Smoking is a process involving the heating of the wood which has the effect of both hardening the wood as well as chaning its colour. Unlike colouring wood with stain or oil, the heating process changes the colour of the wood according to how much tanin is contained within each cell. There, within a single piece the shade after this process can be quite varied. Again, this is an effect achieved after many years of the wood being exposed ot the enviroment. Finally the surface has been through an oiling process using white oil which has the effect of softening the varying darker tones left by prolonged smoking.

GOTLAND PLANK

PRODUCT INFORMATION

Plank dimensions - 14mm depth x 195mm width x 2390mm length.

Construction - 4mm top layer of the species selected  /  8mm middle layer of Swedish Spruce forming the Svedlock locking system  /  2mm back layer of Swedish Spruce.  Smallest of mico-bevels on the long sides and square edge on the end edges providing a seamless finish allowing no dirt to be trapped.

Pack Size - 2.8m². Packs contain a majority of full length planks, but to reduce waste and cost some part lengths can be included. These are required to stagger the end joints for greater installation strength.

Stave dimensions - 65mm width x varying size of lengths. 3 staves across the plank.  Square edge on all stave and plank edges providing a seamless finish allowing no dirt to be trapped.
