BERG & BERG ENGINEERED WOOD FLOORING GRADING SYSTEM

Nature provides different structures and grains, which we sort into four categories or grades: Diamonds, Hearts, Spades and Clubs.

The grades are of identical quality.  Knots are not defects, but are natural components of the tree where the branches have formed. The knotty area is the heartwood and is especially hard.

DIAMONDS GRADE

The most rustic looking board with the greatest number of knots and colour variation.

HEARTS GRADE

Fewer and smaller knots and less colour variation than the diamonds grade.

SPADES GRADE

Occasional small knotting but with colour variation.

CLUBS GRADE

The least number of knots and the least colour variation.
