DELIVERY TERMS

Please give a copy of these terms to the personnel on site who are going to be responsible for accepting the delivery.

All orders through Berg & Berg.co.uk are delivered direct to site from the factory in Sweden. It is therefore important the following procedures are followed:

  1. When placing an order, if there are any restrictions regarding access to the required kerb side to off-load safely and legally with a lorry of any size, please discuss this with Berg & Berg.co.uk prior to placing an order. If the lorry cannot gain access to the required kerb-side, or an alternative is not offered close to the original, the driver has the authority to withdraw from the site. If this occurs, a redelivery charge will be due to be paid by the client prior to a second attempted delivery being made to an alternative location.

  1. When the lorry arrives on the agreed day, personnel must be ready to check, sign for and unload the delivery without delay. Unless a fork lift is available, one personnel is required for deliveries to kerb-side for up to twenty packs, and two personnel over twenty packs.

  1. Use of mechanical equipment on site is at the client’s liability. Any damage to the materials during unloading is the client’s responsibility. If a fork lift is not available the materials will need to be unloaded by hand. The driver of the vehicle is under no obligation to unload and will not do so by themselves, however they will usually be willing to assist to kerb side.

  1. Prior to unloading, the packs must be checked for damage on all visible sides. There is no need to check the sides that are not visible on the pallet. Box damage can occur during transit without causing damage to the wood inside. If there is damage to the wood to an extent that it cannot be fitted, or too much needs to be cut out, it is important the following procedure is followed.

    1. Accept the delivery but make a note on both the driver’s and client’s copies of the delivery notes detailing exactly how many packs have been damaged. Ask the driver to sign both copies. Please ensure the client’s delivery note is retained should it be required in the claim process.

    1. Take a photograph of each area of damage to the wood and e-mail these photographs to This email address is being protected from spambots. 1. Please contact Berg & Berg.co.uk immediately following delivery of the materials by phone (01295 670508) or e-mail (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to advise of the damage and impending images being sent through.

    1. Upon receipt of clear evidence of damaged material upon arrival, we will arrange for additional material to be sent to site to replace it. Failure to do so or a lack of evidence as requested is forthcoming, then no replenishment of claimed damaged materials will be undertaken
